TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by the ultra-fab Ginger over at G-Reads! Seriously check her out if you haven't already, she pretty much rocks!
This weeks question: Author love: In 2011 which new/old authors have you discovered & loved?
Ladies and gentlemen, I present: Elizabeth Scott.
Until a few months ago I didn't know she existed, let alone wrote a whole ton of amazing books! I had only been reading YA Supernatural/Paranormal books and didn't know what to expect when I picked up a copy of The Unwritten Rule. I liked the cover. It's a YA Contemporary and I was like...Hmm....this book is going to be seriously limited on werewolves... but still, I tried it. And loved it. She really seemed to write to my life so I thought, what the heck. I'll get another of her books. I picked up Bloom. I loved it like Whoa. Seriously. So then I thought, third times a charm right? I went out and got Grace. AHHHH. Whether is swoon or oppression Elizabeth Scott can captivate me in the strongest way. Now I'm reading Something, Maybe and hey - here's a shocker - I freaking love it.
She has a unique writing style that makes it so easy to read I have to wonder sometimes if I'm actually reading someone elses words or if there's just a really good conversation going on in my head. You will lose yourself to her story. I can relate to characters/situations/feelings in her books even if it's not something I've personally gone through...but a lot of times there's a lot of that real life stuff in her books that are WAY relatable.
Ya know what's really cool too? She is. Seriously. Shoot her an email, tweet at her, she gets back to you! And she's SO nice! Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to meet her yet but man, I can't wait to!
It's not just me either, tooooons of people love her. Heck there was just a whole Elizabeth Scott week!! I hope that got the word out to people who like me were ignorant to her work. She is truly talented and has so many great stories to tell! I can always count on her for a good read!

Elizabeth Scott! I found her this year too, love her!
ReplyDeleteYou MUST read Stealing Heaven. It's one of her best, in my opinion. Thanks for joining TGIF this week!
